A crankshaft may fail to turn due to several reasons, including lack of lubrication, which can lead to excessive friction and seizing. Additionally, mechanical issues such as a broken connecting rod, a damaged bearing, or a locked timing chain can prevent movement. Electrical problems, such as a faulty starter motor or battery issues, can also contribute to the crankshaft not turning. Lastly, external obstructions or damage to the engine block can hinder its rotation.
No
Ye, it will turn over.
No, it's bolted to the end of the crank which pistons/rods attached to.
Crank shaft sensor need replaced or cam shaft sensor
If you mean ... why the crank won't turn when the key is on and the acc.'s will turn, Well sounds like crank shaft is locked up. When the crank bearings try to pile up on each other and jam the crankshaft in it's final resting place, till rebuild.
I would recommend that you do put a crank shaft head on a crank shaft. Putting any other type of head on a crank shaft could possibly break the head.
could be your crank shaft
Crank shaft
A bad cam or crank sensor can cause a no start, but the engine will still crank or turn over.
The engine crank shaft is inside the engine
Clockwise if viewed from belt end.
The crank sensor on a 2001 Malibu is located on the bottom of the engine near the crank shaft. It monitors the rotation and speed of the crank shaft.
