Until the florescences is done with the Uranium it will not emit or glow in the dark . Though it is a radioactive substance it should be added with a florescence agent that will give the ability to shine in the dark.

Cerenkov radiation is a unique byproduct of certain types of radioactive particles passing through certain molecules at a high rate of speed. Glowing from Cerenkov radiation would not occur without some other medium in between Uranium and the observer.

Uranium releases alpha particles (helium nuclei), beta particles (electrons and positrons), and gamma rays (super high energy photons - these are definitely not in the visible spectrum).

The fuel rods in a reactor do notglow. In reactors containing water (either as moderator or coolant) the water around the fuel rods will glow due to a phenomenon called Cherenkov Radiation caused by beta radiation (electrons) from the fission product decay passing through the water faster than the speed of light in water. This light is blue in color. The process of Cherenkov Radiationis somewhat analogous to a sonic boom when something travels through air faster than the speed of sound in air.
