Yes, one of the top med schools in the country.
The best pre-med schools in the US in no particular order are: John Hopkins in Baltimore, The University of Washington in Seattle, New York University and Stanford University in California. There are many more top rated pre-med schools located all over the country.
Pretty much all colleges and universities offer a pre-med major.
http://education-portal.com/articles/Best_Universities_for_Pre-Med_Students_List_of_Top_Schools.html has a pretty good list. http://www.ehow.com/list_6666891_list-pre_med-schools.html is a list from ehow of pre-med schools
There are many websites online where you can find information about pre med schools. One website I can recommend is called Education.portal.com.Another excellent website is called pfoho.harvard.edu/premed.
The top Pre Med Schools in America are Cornell University, Creighton University, Boston University, and Dartmouth Medical School. You can get a complete list here: http://www.america.edu/top_20_pre-med_schools_in_america.html
Washington University, Harvard University, and UCLA offer some of the best pre-med schools due to elite research and high success rates. Duke University also offers a fantastic program.
36 institutions of higher learning, 380 public schools, 98 charter schools.
Doing and individual search for the schools can help you find reviews. You can also check with the BBB for information or you can visit www.premedguide.com for med schools listed by rank.
Two of the best med schools in New York are Cornell and Columbia. The University of Rochester also has a highly rated medical program.
Most undergrad's major in Biology, biochemistry or pre-med. They also try to take all of the hardest courses on campus since entrance to medical schools is very competitive. In their junior or senior year, they take the MCAT and begin applying to med. schools. Med. school takes 3 years on average. To specialize in cardiology, you would take additional courses focusing on the heart. After med. school, you would do your internship and residency with cardiologists. After residency, you'd be ready to begin your career.
No school, INCLUDING Harvard, combines college with med school. You still need your bachelors degree before you can go to med school ANYWHERE. Some schools may have programs where you can shorten the span from 8 years to 7 but no school combines them.
