Some metals can just be mined since they do not form oxides or compounds, such as gold. Other metals form compounds which need further processing, such as lead and titanium. Iron ore is usually just heated until molten. This is smelting.
Sodium CAN be a metal, just like copper CAN be a metal, but nothing is a metal, a metal is just the crystallized form of some substances. What I mean by this is, well lets take an example, you have zinc, copper, and other things in your body like that, they have a metal shape, but that does NOT mean that there is metal in our bodies. Metal is just a category of substances in solid form. So "metal" is just a solids category. So yes Sodium can be a metal. Sodium is a metal.
Interesting question. I suppose that Sodium Chloride is a solid substance in it's normal state, as mined in many parts of the world.(common table salt) Mercury is considered to be a metal, and conducts electricity extremely well. Perhaps that is what you were wondering. Perhaps you think it is NOT a metal. I think sodium conducts electricity and is used in Sodium Vapor lights which you often see in city streets. These are just my thoughts . See what others have to say.
metal is so stronger In tool making they use an alloy called Chrome Vanadium.
Nope. It is its' own metal. It is mined from the ground just like any other metal.
Absolutely! Canada is rich in metal resources. Nickel, gold, and silver are just a few of the metals mined there.
When they have just been mined they come in all sorts of shapes and sizes but once they have been polished and cut, they are usually round and smooth.
No. Rocks just lie there. Cars in the most basic sense are made of rocks and crude oil. Rocks are mined for metal that are in them. Oil is made into plastic.
Just about any mineral or metal can be mined underground or at the surface. Some typical underground mines may include gold, silver, coal, uranium, limestone, and salt. Many gemstones such as opal, diamond, emerald, ruby and sapphire are found in underground mines.
Opals in Queensland are mined at Yowah, just outside of Quilpie in the far west of the state.
I had to answer this for homework, this question didn't help me as there was not any answers but I found something on the cycle of metal...INGREDIENTSMetal is a material that is mined from earth. There are many different types of metals. Many of the metals that get thrown in the garbage are scrap metal. Scarp metal is metal we don't want any more like old cars or construction waste. Metal is not biodegradable. But, it can be recycled to make many other useful products.HISTORYPeople have used metals from the beginning of times. They even named whole period of history after metals like Copper Age. Since then people have been using metal for many purpose from construction to packaging and car parts. Metals are still mined today. scientists have also found many ways to improve metals so that they can be stronger and have more uses.USEMetal is used everyday life everywhere you can think of for example construction workers use them to build houses and buildings, are also in computers and even in your house that you live in.Metal is and important part of buildings just think about it if your house or any building did not have any metal during a hurricane your house would very unstable and would collapse. That is why metal is such an important part of the world to have.Anywhere you look there are probably at least and inch of metal.LIFE CYCLEMany types of metal are recyclable and here are a few steel, tin cans, aluminum cans, empty aerosol cans, and aluminum foil plates. After metal is mined it is smelted and processed into many of the products listed above. But do you know what happens to it after it has been used?Well first you have to wash it and it would do the workers at the recycling place good if you crushed them but most people just rinse it and throw it into a recycling bin. After it has been recycled the process starts from the beginning.
Mahaleo rubies are rubies that have been altered. They are "real rubies" that have cracks, fissures, etc and are "fixed" with molten glass. Buyer beware... Just remember that you do truly "get what you pay for!"

Coal chamber, it's just called "loco".
Precious metal headbands are typically just referred to as headbands. However, occasionally they can be referred to as an Alice band.
