St. Maria Goretti performed a thoughtful miracle *act*

She was the Saint of Rape Victims as she has victimed one.

Her story:

Maria was a young Italian girl whose 20-year-old neighbor, Alessandro, wanted to "do wrong with her." She said no, because it was a sin against God. So he stabbed her 14 times. Maria was taken to the hospital where she lay in pain for two days. She forgave Alessandro on her deathbed, "for the love of Jesus" and so that he could be with her in Heaven.

So from the story, it is obvious that she did do a justly act forgiving her own murderer Alessandro for the love of Jesus and prayed for God to put Alessandro in Heaven with her.

Hope this Helped.

St. Maria Goretti is not known for performing miracles during her lifetime. She is recognized as a martyr for her faith, having been killed while defending her purity. She was later canonized as a saint for her strong Christian virtues and her forgiveness towards her attacker.

St. Maria Goretti was a little girl who lived on a farmland in Italy, back at the turn of the 20'Th Century. Her father died when she was about 8 or 9 years old, meaning that her mother had to care for the entire family herself, while working on the farmland.

The Gorettis lived with another family called the Serenellis. One of Serenelli's sons was named Alessandro, who became addicted to reading pornography. Eventually, he wanted to act out the various sexual acts that he had been reading about. So he began hitting on little Maria.

Maria Goretti was very pious, and did not want to offend God. So when Alessandro started to harass her, she would tell him that what he was trying to do was a serious sin. But, Alessandro would not back off from his pursuit.

One hot summer day in July, he came into the farm house, with a knife, and threatened to kill Maria if she resisted the rape one more time. But Maria again told Alessandro that he was about to commit a sin and could go to Hell. So Alessandro stabbed her repeatedly.

Maria was taken to the hospital where suffered for about 2 days. In that time, she died forgiving her attacker, and prayed for his repentance.

Alessandro Serenelli was sentenced to life imprisonment. For the first 3 years, he refused to repent, until he had a dream of Maria forgiving him, where upon he awoke a completely changed man.

Pope Pius XII canonized Maria in 1950, as a model for young people to remain pure.

Her Feast Day is July 6.
