Concave D. Diverging
The type of mirrors or lenses that always produce smaller images are concave. The shape of a concave bends or refracts light outward away from the center of the lens or mirror, and towards its thicker edges, thus images appear smaller.
diverging and concave
diverging
Convex lenses form real images and concave lenses form virtual images. But there is one case in which convex lens also forms virtual images. This is when object is placed between Principal Focus "F" and Optical Centre "O"
As it produces images which are reflected in a surface.
False
Diverging lenses always produce images that are upright. The images are virtually reduced and trapped within the lens which will act as a magnifying glass. .
Convex: Makes images smaller Concave: Makes images larger. Eventually as you take it away from the image it flips the image.
The shorter the focal length of a lens, the smaller the real images that it produces. The diameter of the lens is irrelevant.
Convex lenses always form smaller, virtual images
diverging lens
Convex lens produces both real and virtual images. But concave lens produces only virtual images for real objects. If object is virtual then real image could be produced by a concave lens.

Convex(converging) lenses can form either real or virtual images.
It produces only a virtual image in front of the lens.
As it produces images which are reflected in a surface.
