They got a check engine light when they went to fuel injection. Varies from make and model. Most got it in the mid '80's
(YES) & it would b really easy if there was a year & model :->
Depending on the vehicle the check engine light would illuminate.
I don't have an answer for you except that you can go to Autozone and they will check your computer for free if your check engine light is on. I don't know what year model this starts at, but it's worth a try so that you don't have to guess!
Have the problem repaired that set the check engine light in the first place. The professional that repairs the problem will reset the light. Or, you can disconnect the negative battery cable for five minutes which may or may not reset the check engine light. However, the light will just come back on if the problem is not repaired.
When you turn on the ignition switch the check engine light will come on for a few seconds. If it does not then the bulb is burnt out or has been removed. As you failed to list make, model, and year it is impossible to answer your question.
The check engine light is on because the engine control module (ECM) senses a problem with the system. Resetting the check engine light without making repairs will only set the light back on again. Drive to your local auto parts store and have them read the codes that are set and with that information they can help you determine what needs to be done to cancel the check engine light. It would help to also list the year, make and model vehicle you have for us to help you.
The gauge check light is just a reminder to check your gauges.Probably your fuel gauge is below a set point.Just put gas in it and it will go off. Rember..its not the check engine light...
I don't know about the 2000 year model directly but the 1996 is similar I am sure. To reset the "check engine" light, find the EFI fuse (probably under the hood in the fusebox on the driver's side) and with the engine off, remove it for one minute minimum. Replace the fuse and the "check engine" light should be reset.
There are dozens of reasons. But in most cars of this model some sensors just become old and have to be replaced. When sensors fail ECU sets off the check engine light.
You didn't mention the year, make or model vehicle you have but, chances are it has a "check engine" light. If the "check engine" light does not illuminate while you're using the vehicle it is running efficiently as it is designed to run.
No. Check engine lights didn't start in the Wrangler until the MPI system came out for the 1991 model years. For both the 4 and 6 cyl engines.
I have had the check engine light come on twice in my 95 T-100 and both times it was a faulty oxygen sensor. My vehicle which is the 6 cyl model has two of these sensors. Both are quit pricy so it is best to have a service garage check to see which one is faulty before you replace them yourself. Also if you have removed the housing for the air filter this can cause a check engine light. Check to ensure that the housing is properly seated and the light should go out eventually.
