The Himalayas is an example of a mountain range formed when two plates collided. It was formed upon the collision of the Indian Plate and the Eurasian Plate.

The colliding plate edges become crumpled to form a mountain range.
Mountain chains are formed by the action of different tectonic plates drifting into and colliding with each other. When they collide one plate rides over the top of the other creating a mountain or mountain range.
1/ Convergent, or colliding:-where the plates are moving towards each other. Example : Nazca plate colliding with west coast of South America produces the Andes mountain range. 2/ Divergent, or spreading:- where the plates are moving apart. Example:- Mid Atlantic sea floor spreading causing the USA to move away from Europe. 3/ Transform ,or sliding:- where the two plates slip past each other. Example:- San Andreas fault where the Pacific plate is moving North causing earthquakes as the stored energy is rapidly released in the stick and slip motion.
The Himalayas in Asia is a prime example of a folded mountain range formed by the collision of the Indian Plate and the Eurasian Plate. The collision between these plates caused the Earth's crust to crumple and fold, resulting in the formation of the towering Himalayan mountain range.

Most mountain ranges occur in the region of major plates colliding with each other, forcing one to go over top of the other.
They are fold mountains as it is a mountain range. It is caused by either 2 continental plates or an oceanic and a continental plate colliding into each other.
I think its the Andes but i could be wrong hope this helps somehow

Fold mountains are formed when two of the Earthâ??s tectonic plates push together. This process is called orogeny. The pressure of the colliding plates force the edges of the plates upward into folds. Fold mountains are the most common type of mountain. It takes millions of years to create a mountain range!
When oceanic plates collide with continental plates, The oceanic plate goes under the Continental plate, creating friction deep in the earth, where the plates are rubbing against each other, creating magma, which rises to the surface and creates volcanic mountain ranges. The Andes mountain range is an example. I don't know if this will help you at all.
Fold mountains.
The mountain range that resulted from North America and Africa colliding with each other was the Appalachian Mountain range. This mountain range began forming during the time of Pangaea at which time North America and Africa were connected. The Appalachian Mountains span an area of 1,500 miles and the highest point of this range is 6,684 feet.
