A mountain chain
How can you determine whether or not a mountain is still forming?i CAN TELL A MOUNTAIN IS STILL FORMING BY MEASURING HOW MUCH THE MOUNTAIN IS GETTING HIGHER
Volcanic mountain ranges are formed from oceanic-continental convergent-subduction boundaries, much like with volcanic islands. When a plate is subducted, the crust forming this plate is heated and melted creating magma which erupts from the crust and creates volcanic mountain ranges.

Well, technically, convergent boundaries can be wherever there are tectonic plates, and convergent boundaries are just where two plates push together forming a mountain range or a mid-ocean ridge. So it can be on any layer of earth. By the way I'm only in 6th grade
Virginia had it's boundaries change. The western counties did not agree with secession, so "seceded" from the state, forming "West Virginia".

Mountains form at (convergent and divergent) plate boundaries. Two plates can crash together and bend upward, forming a mountain, or lava can harden into rack and build up volcanoes which are mountains.
Most volcanoes appear at the tectonic plate boundaries where friction between the plates and the mantle makes magma which then push through near the plate boundaries forming volcanoes.
At convergent boundaries some mantle material can melt and rise through the crust, forming volcanoes.
The uplift stage in mountain forming is the the collision of two continents at a convergent plate boundary.
