I am specifically looking for info on the Sacramento Bee. From what I see they are very pro democrat. Is there a sight that formally lists party support of newspapers/media organizations.
While some British national newspapers might align themselves with different political parties, none of them are controlled by any party.
The political party that Tammany Hall supported was the Democratic party.

A person who does not express support or involvement with a political party is known as an independent.
The Republican Party.
Newspapers are a form of media that doles out information to a large audience. A political party would give specific information of news whether it be slanderous information about other parties and their magnates or information that shows the party in an appealing fashion. Furthermore, by using newspapers the political party could get their information out to a broader audience without having to move to each area where there are voters because this would be very expensive. Also, a political party would choose a printing firm that is not only well received by the people but also has the most audience. In this way they can not only appeal to many people but the citizens may actually believe everything written in the newspaper about that political party.
