To some extent the question answers itself: the d orbitals are related to the d sublevel.

There are also hybrid orbitals that have some d character.

All p sublevels contain three orbitals, including the 4p sublevel.

What is the maximum number of electrons that can occupy the 2p sublevel?

The maximum number of electrons in the 2p sublevel is 6. The p sublevel has three orbitals, each of which can take two electrons.

How many orbitals are in a p subshell?

6 electrons in 3 orbitals of p-sublevel: px, py and pz

How many electrons are found in each sublevel?

Multiply the orbitals in that sublevel by 2. The s sublevel has one orbital and can contain 2 electrons. The p sublevel has three orbitals and can contain 6 electrons. The d sublevel has five orbitals and can contain 10 electrons. The f sublevel has seven orbitals and can contain 14 electrons.

p-orbitals.

Does an electron have the same amount of enery in all orbitals?

All of the orbitals in the same energy sublevel (s, p, d, f) have the same amount of energy. For example, each of the 3p orbitals have the same energy and all of the electrons in the 3p orbitals have the same energy.

How many electrons are in the g sublevel?

There are 9 orbitals in a g sublevel. (there is 1 in an s sublevel, 3 in a p sublevel, 5 in a d sublevel, 7 in an f sublevel, 9 in a g sublevel, 11 in an h sublevel, etc.)

How many 2p orbitals are there and what is the number of electrons they can hold?

There are three 2p orbitals and each can hold a maximum of two electrons with opposite spins, for a total of 6 electrons. This is true of the p sublevel in any energy level, except for the first energy level, which does not have a p sublevel.

How many orbitals in the f sublevel?

there are actually 7 orbitals.. the different orbitals are s,p,d,f s has 1, p has 3, d has 5, and f has 7. i hope this helps you..i got this info straight from my chem teacher..
