Yes a Scrambler is also known as a CJ-8
Perhaps a die-hard Jeep fan
You would put a roll cage on a Jeep Scrambler CJ8 by just screwing it onto the front of the car. The process is very easy and most people should be able to do it.
Xtreme 4x4 - 2001 CJ8 Scrambler Part II 2009-2 was released on: USA: January 2009
no the body on the cj series are bigger than the dj series
Serpentine Belt 4.2L - 87.2" - 6 Rib - 1981-1986 - Jeep CJ5, CJ7, CJ8, & SJ
Yes you can use a CJ8 for a CJ8Y, but you cannot use a CJ8Y for a CJ8......the CJ8Y has about 1/4in more thread.
Yes. Everything from the doors ---> forward was the same in the CJ5, CJ6, CJ7 and CJ8. The CJ7 is 2" longer than the CJ5 to allow for the optional automatic transmission, so the frame and body were 2" longer. The CJ6 and CJ8 were 10" longer in the back.
Cj8 is hotter than cj7
This is very typical of the Jeep CJ transfer cases. This is usually a sign of little use on the transfer case. This is nothing to be overly concerned about. I have owned 6 CJs and all but one (with a 304 cid and less common transfer case) had tight transfer cases. More transfer cases usage will lead to easier shifting.

I think you will run into issues with a direct fit, Jeep widened the frame for the change to YJ from CJ so it would stand to reason that the spring mounts are wider apart as well.
