∙ 11y agoHydrocodone is the generic name for Vicodin, which as you may know is a narcotic. Lorcet is also another name. Other drugs like it are Percocet (Oxycodone), and Fentanyl. Nucynta (Tapentadol) is a newer drug that was approved by the FDA in 2008, that has an opiate in it, but also an analgesic, which is why many pain management doctors seem to be switching their patients to it.
