A phase change diagram starts with a solid and as it heats up it melts. when it is melting it plateaus. from that point the solid changes from a solid to a liquid. once the substance changes into a liquid it evaporates. At that point when the substance is evaporating it plateaus. then turns into a gas... hope this is helpful it is sort of difficult to explain:)
A type of chart used to show conditions at which thermodynamic ally distinct phases can occur at equilibrium(:

a steep upward sloping line
melting is happening to the glaciers.
vaporization
obsorb
Nothing - all energy goes into the phase change.
a steep upward sloping line
A horizontal line on a phase change graph means there has been no change. Often longer periods of research are needed to see significant change.
A graph going down from GAS to SOLID best represents a change in phase from a gas to a solid.

It is because that is when the change is occurring, and the diagonal part is when the process has already happened

Thermal energy (heat)
Yes. Strictly speaking there should be no temperature change during a phase change.
