The Adam's apple is the protrusion in the front of the larynx formed by the thyroid cartilage. It is more prominent in males due to hormonal effects during puberty.
The thyroid gland is located just below the larynx (voice box) or "Adam's apple" in the front of the neck. In some thyroid diseases, the thyroid gland enlarges (goiter), which can be felt and seen as a bump in the neck. Sometimes, the first sensation with thyroid enlargement is a feeling of fullness or difficulty swallowing.
The human larynx rests in a frame of cartilage bound by ligaments and muscles. At the front is the thyroid cartilage, creating the lump at the front of the neck, known as the laryngeal prominence or more commonly as the Adam's apple. Regarding the etymology of the term "Adam's apple", Webster's 1913 dictionary states that the term "… is so called from a notion that it was caused by the forbidden fruit, (an apple) sticking in the throat of our first parent." Laryngeal prominence The larynx grows during puberty in males much more than in females, and as a result the Adam's apple is typically more prominent in adult men than in women or prepubescent girls or boys. This growth of the larynx is also the reason for the voice cracking in teenage boys. The reason for the Adam's apple being more prominent in males is that the two laminae of the cartilage meet at an angle of 90° in males but that angle is 120° in females. For some transwomen, the Adam's apple remains more prominent than desired, and this is sometimes remedied by a chondrolaryngoplasty (trachea shave), a type of plastic surgery to reduce the size of the Adam's apple.
Actually, both males and females have Adam's apples (which is just the thyroid cartilage). The only difference is that men's thyroid cartilages are more pronounced so they can be easily seen, but to find it on a woman you would have to feel for it.Adam's AppleMen have an Adam's apple because their larynx (also called the "voice-box"), which contains the vocal cords is larger in men than in women. It is actually the thyroid cartilage, which makes up a part of the larynx, that protrudes from the front of the neck forming the familiar "Adam's apple.'
The larynx is also known as the voice box. It is a part of the throat that houses the vocal cords and plays a vital role in speech and sound production.
The white stuff found in the core of an apple is called the apple core or pith. It is the central part of the apple that contains seeds and is surrounded by the flesh of the fruit.
The Adam's apple is part of the larynx, which is located in the upper part of the respiratory tract, near the throat. It is more prominent in males due to the differences in the size of the larynx between males and females.
Its under the chin. In puberty, teenage boys get an Adams apple for their voice to get deeper. From :)

The "Adam's apple" is the bony protruberance of the larynx in a male human. To the best of my knowledge, the same protruberance on a dog's larynx is not called the "Adam's apple" regardless of gender. However, both a male and a female dog do have the protruberance, as do both male and female humans - it just tends to be less pronounced in females of both species.
