All US pennies made before 1982 are copper, along with some made in 1982 that are copper, however, copper-coated zinc pennies were also used during that year making identification by weighing necessary.

No pennies are copper.

copper is in a lot of things. a couple of them are, ..... pipes, pennys, a lot of wireing, ect.

pennys are 97.5% zinc and 2.5% copper

Copper could be a factor. The penny's made today are not made of copper I would go to a copper dealer.

The answer depends on how many pennies are in each box.

In recent years pennies have been made of steel plated in copper, and steel is prone to rust. Older pennies were made of pure copper, or copper and zinc, which did not rust.

Damp conditions tarnish copper and bronze pennies quickly. Bleach can also tarnish them.

There are no exact records of the number of copper pennies made in 1943. It was about 40. Most pennies that year were made of steel.

Most from 1794 to 1964 were all silver. 1965 to 1990 were clad copper. 1991 to today is a high-valued mix of silver and copper. pennys have allways been copper. - Jeremy

One cent. They are common and not even copper, but copper plated zinc.Or $25-$35 IF they are in the original roll(50 pennys are in a roll)

It depends on what year they were minted but from 1982 to date Lincoln cents are made from .975% zinc & .025% copper.

Those minted before 1982 are 95% copper and 5% tin and zinc (except for 1943, which was made of steel and 1944-1946 when the composition was 95% copper and 5% zinc). Anything since then is a core of 99.2% zinc and 0.8% copper with a pure copper plating.

not very valuable, a pennys weight is worth a penny so it takes lots to make much money.

The switch was made in 1982. Some pennies that year are copper, and others are zinc. If you can't tell the difference, then use 1981 for the last year.

If you mean US Lincoln cents dated 1942 & 1943 the answer is no, the composition of the 1942 is .950 copper and .050 tin and zinc. The 1943 is zinc coated steel.
