Most mammals normally cease to produce lactase, (and become lactose intolerant), after weaning. However, some human populations have developed lactase persistence (and therefore can eat dairy after adulthood). This said, research reveals intolerance to be more common globally than lactase persistence. The frequency of lactose intolerance ranges from 5% in Northern European to more than 90% in some African and Asian countries. That would mean that 95% of people form European stock and 10% of people from African and Asian stock are "not lactose intolerant".
about 30 million American adults have lactose intolerance in America.

About 2.5 to perhaps as many as 3% of the US population suffers from alcoholism.
Approximately 1%. (This is also the percentage, worldwide, of the population that suffers from schizophrenia.)
It is estimated that less than 1% of the population suffers from amnesia, with the condition being rare. Amnesia can result from various causes such as brain injury, stroke, or neurological conditions.

It has been estimated that heartburn occurs in more than 60% of adults. About 20% of the population take antacids or over-the-counter H2 blockers at least once per week to relieve heartburn.

Europe's population growth rate is about .2% which means it loses about 1,600,000 per year. The west still has population growth but it is the east who suffers from population declination.
8. Grain Intolerance & Stress - About 12-18% of the U.S. population suffers from a genetic intol- erance to grain. Specifically, a high incidence occurs in Celtic, Germanic, and Nordic derivation. The gut becomes inflamed within 30 minutes after consuming the grains and this can lead to an adrenal stress response, increased cortisol and reduced DHEA. (Several other functions that go beyond the scope indicated here are also cortisol and DHEA dependent.) The Adrenal Stress Index™ (ASI™)
