I believe that this phobia is currently unnamed by the scientific community. It either falls under "acrophobia" or "fear of heights" or under claustrophobia or "fear of small, enclosed spaces."
I would suggest something along the lines of sursumdeorsumphobia, which means literally, in latin, "fear of up and down" it seems to fit. Sursum is up and deorsum is down.
My first guess was to think of something along the lines of Claustrophobia, as many people who are afraid of elevators are scared of being stuck in a confined space for an extended amount of time.
Yeah, I have Clastrophobia. Once when I was in 5th grade we went to a museum, and when we went into a room with all these elevators I froze and couldn't breathe. I nearly toppled over...

He supposedly has a phobia of tight spaces like elevators, and closets.
acrophobia...people who have acrophobia are acrophobics
Well elevators stop sometimes and they have lots of problems so I think it would be a bit normal ------------- Normal is hard to say, but it is a common fear because it is a situation where a person has to give over control, even though elevators are statistically the safest form of transportation on earth - even safer than walking.
elevators he says in a girlslife magazine interview.he once got trapped in one when he was younger and says they make him feel claustrophobia . CLAUSTROPHOBIA :Dheight's and small spaces such as elevators closets and boxesJustin is claustrophobic (he is afraid of small spaces.) He is also afraid of spiders, but not to the point of having it be a definite "phobia."He's claustraphobic
elevators are related to math because elevators have numbers on them
