It really depends on what type of pollution. Chemicals being dumped in waterways from nearby factories will have a different impact than say smoke and soot from a coal burning electricity power station.

Also, at what point do you define industrial pollution? Does it include the environmental damage of mining raw materials right through to the careless disposal of post consumer waste?
