well, first of all, Braddock made sure to move his army slowly. To the point that it took them four days to travel only twelve miles, when it should have taken them four days to travel at least 30 or 40 miles. Secondly, Braddock had all his soldiers wear bright colored uniforms. Thirdly (and I promise this is last), he had them all march in rows and columns so that they would be nice and visible to the enemy. Well, I'm sure that's not the reason why he did it that way, but still.. That's what happened.
