Well there were may more, but one for sure was that by the time they arrived there

a. everyone was sea sick.

b. It was coming on winter.

c. They had no homes or shelters.

d. They had little food with them.

e. Some of the natives were very Territorial and those are just scraping the surface.

Most of the "pilgrims" faced starvation, and illness in plymouth. They could not plant gardens properly, and they did not have sufficient resources to last a cold bitter winter, which caused many of the citizens their lives.

They landed for the first time. All people living here before were primitive to their standards and never really set up a living system. The pilgrims had to construct homes, start gathering food, and survive from being attacked by local animals and tribes.
