This depends on the nature and form of the sample:
- for a solid with a regulate shape weight the sample and calculate the volume from the dimensions; density is the ratio between mass and volume. You can measure the volume of great sample by water displacement.
- for other solids use a pycnometer
- for liquids use a densimeter (simple or electronic)
etc.

What is the density of an unknown liquid with a mass of 3.444 g and volume of 3.82 ml?

Density equals mass divided by volume. your given examples density is .902g/cm^3. (cm^3 is interchangeable with mL) the density of this unknown liquid is close to that of water (.997g/mL) and I therefore believe it is water.

What is the density of an unknown liquid with a mass of 30.6 g and a volume of 53.3 ml?

The density is mass/volume = 30.6g/53.3ml = 0.5741 grams per millilitre.

How do you find the density of liquid?

Problem: You are given two unknown liquids. Find the density of each. Materials: 100ml graduated cylinder, triple beam balance, calculator, 2 unknown liquids. Procedure: 1) Find the mass of the empty graduated cylinder. 2) Pour unknown liquid #1 into the graduated cylinder to the 50 ml. level. 3) Find the mass of the graduated cylinder with 50ml of unknown liquid #1. 4) Repeat steps 1-3 for unknown liquid #2. We can calculate density of a liquid using the formula: Density= Mass/Volume where mass is that for just the liquid (you must subtract out the mass of the graduated cylinder). Now let's calculate the densities of the two liquids using the following given data. Liquid #1: Given: Mass of empty graduated cylinder = 78 grams Mass of graduated cylinder with unknown liquid #1= 128 grams. Find: a) Mass of just the liquid = ____ b) Volume of liquid=_____ c) Density of liquid #1 =____ Liquid #2: Given: Mass of empty graduated cylinder = 78 grams Mass of graduated cylinder with unknown liquid #2= 117.5 grams. Find: a) Mass of just the liquid = ____ b) Volume of liquid =_____ c) Density of liquid #2=____ Check your answers by inserting the value in the box below.

A graduated cylinder with mass of 105.56g has 45.5ml of a certain liquid added to it. The mass of the cylinder and the liquid is 142.01g. What is the density of this liquid.?

Mass of unknown liquid = 142.01 g - 105.56 g = 36.45 gVolume of unknown liquid = 45.5 mldensity = mass/volume = 36.45 g/45.5 mldensity = 0.801 g/ml

An unknown liquid occupies a volume of ml and has a mass of 40 grams what it's density?

Isn't it just 800 grams?

What if an empty graduated cylinder weighs 51.36g. When filled with 50.0mL of an unknown liquid. it weighs 91.35g. What is the density of the unknown liquid?

A gram is a measure of mass, not of weight. The density of the liquid is 0.8 grams per mL.

What measurement of a liquid can you make with a graduated cylinder?

A graduated cylinder is a piece of laboratory equipment used to measure the volume of a liquid and are generally more accurate and precise than laboratory flasks and beakers.

What equipment do you need to find the density of liquid?

density is = mass over volume so... use a scale to get mass and a graduated cylender to get volume. If you find yourself in a lab there is equipment to find the density strait away.

Is laboratory equipment necessary for decanting a mixture why or why not?

Laboratory equipment is not needed to decant a mixture because one liquid is denser than the other liquid so they separate naturally; one rising to the top and the other sinking toward the bottom.
