What qualities do mark Antony have?

Marc Antony was a complicated person--for a Roman. He had great leadership qualities, which he proved in his military campaigns. He was generous and genial and often ate and mixed with the men under his command. His best qualities were brought out in a crisis. He also had a sense of honor. He was the one, who, after restoring Ptolemy XII to his throne, demanded that Ptolemy's rebellious son-in-law, Archelaos, be given an honorable burial because he had fought so well. His own death was an honorable one, according to Roman standards. He also was well versed in Roman law and was an exceptional public speaker.

He wasn't. He was a good general but when it came to public administration he did a poor job. Him and Julius Ceasar even had a kinda falling off when Ceasar returned to Rome and realized the mess of things Antony was making in his absence.

History has been unjust to Marc Antony, portraying him as a drunken, bumbling, love besotted loser, but he was far more then that. He was a great orator. When he applied himself he was a capable administrator. Julius Caesar would never have left him in charge of Rome while he was away if Antony were inept. (There was trouble there, but Antony can be justified) After the victory in Egypt, Octavian did not replace the client kings or nullify the decrees that Antony issued because they were sound politics.

As a person he was generous and did not seem to have the arrogant manner that characterized most high ranking Romans.
