In Into the Wild Firestar comes in as Firepaw and Sandstorm(paw) hates him. She teases him with her friend Dustpelt(paw). When Firestar becomes a warrior Sandstorm hates him more because he becomes a warrior before she did. When she becomes a warrior she shows Firestar(heart) respect and falls in love with him. When Dustpelt still shows no respect for Firestar(heart) Sandstorm turns her back on him. Sandstorm becomes jealous when she remembers that Firestar had a love for the young Starclan medicine cat, Spottedleaf. He still loves Spottedleaf and she loves him back but she doesn't mate with him because she doesn't want to break the warrior code.
