No if it was fact then it wouldn't be fiction. However it can be based on what we predict to one day be a fact.
well in some cases yes but in others like stuff about aliens then no.
Science Fiction is a genre that often incorporates elements of science and technology, but it is not always based on established scientific facts. While some works may explore the implications of known scientific principles or speculate on future advancements, many also include imaginative concepts that go beyond current understanding or possibility.
The most famous example of this is the communication satellite as envisioned by Arthur C Clarke.
It is science fiction. Science fiction generally bases a fictional story about a debatable scientific point like time travel, aliens and other disputed ideas.
No, it isn't. It's based on a science fiction novel by Isaac Asimov.
The opposite of Science Fiction would be science fact.
The fact that it is set in space and it is made up.
A science-fiction film will contain elements of fact and speculation to further the plot of the film . Fact and Fiction , what could be possible and what may be probable . 2001 : A Space Odyssey is an excellent example of a film with both elements of science and fiction .

Yes. The first issue of the magazine was published as Astounding Stories of Super Science in January 1930. The Magazine has variously been called Astounding Stories of Super Science, Astounding Stories, Astounding Science Fiction, Astounding Science Fiction and Fact. In 1960 it changed its name to Analog Science Fiction and Fact. As of 2009 it was still in print under that name.
Fiction. From Wikipedia: "The novel is presented as a novelization of a true story, but it is in fact entirely fiction."
The only way a scientific "fact" can become fiction is if it is proven wrong. Unfortunately most of science is either proven beyond a reasonable doubt to be correct or it is unprovable and just the only explanation they can come up with. If it is unprovable "big bang" they label it a theory, which to a lot of scientists is just as factual as something that has been proven. In a sense science is really nothing but another type of religion based on seen facts. No faith.
