To get into The University of Tokyo you must have a very thorough understanding of the Japanese language (at least JLPT level 1) as all courses are in Japanese.
You must also pass 2 sets of exams. First either University Centre exams or the Daiken exam then entrance exams specifically for the University of Tokyo (5 subjects: English, Japanese grammar and literature, Mathematics, Science, and Humanities).
