Yes there are sharks. The most common to see are Bull sharks, but there are all types. Galevston's water is the water from the Gulf of Mexcio meaning there should be all types of sharks. Dont be scared just follow the same rules as you would at any other beach. No shiny swimsuiets, jewlery, ect. and not to much splashing. Be careful to stay in waist to chin deep waters.
No they don't. They live in clear cool waters most if the time. They live mostly off the coasts of South Africa, California, and Australia. Sometimes known to migrate to Hawaii for some reason.

It's illegal to catch sharks.
Sharks live in the ocean - that's all the ocean, not just part of it. There are sharks everywhere.
Yes, of course dangerous animals can come on shore. Sharks, stingrays, killer dolphins, and jelly fish.
Here in s.c. we catch sharks while surf fishing from shore all the time. They often eat the game fish we are trying to catch while reeling it in. They are a pit of a pain for fishermen.
Yes. Some sharks will be seen near shore. Bull sharks, for example, are often found in shallows.
Stay near shore wear a life jacket watch for sharks wear sunscrean stay with a friend
Sharks dont go close to shore very often. I would think that the only time they go close to shore is when their prey is near shore. Many shark species spend their entire lives in coastal waters, including the dangerous bull shark, which even enters rivers that empty into the sea.
Winds and waves are the major contributors of beach erosion. Over building by people close to the shore causes erosion to speed up.
