A netbook should be able to surf Facebook just fine. Netbooks were made to be able to connect to the web and also have ultra portability. For extra power look for a dual core processor enabled netbook.
Your netbook does have a hard drive, it's just likely a solid state one. Without one your netbook would be useless. At minimum your netbook should have 802.11 wireless built in. If you already have DSL/Cable at home, you can simply purchase a wireless router to give the netbook internet access. If you want access on the road then you should look into getting a cellular modem, provided that you have 3G in the areas you will be traveling. Anything less than 3G would not be worth having due the slowness.

You should really look in the manual of the printer. There's really no way to tell you without knowing what you have for a netbook, what kind of network, if any, you have, etc. If you have a wireless netbook connected to the internet through a router then just be sure the netbook has the updated HP drivers installed and the printer is set up for DHCP and it should grab the IP. Make sure the printer has the exact same password and encryption, WPA2 if possible, as the netbook. The same information you used to connect the netbook to your network. Or if it has a USB port just connect it directly to the netbook and set it up that way.
Different netbook manufacturers offer warranties that differ according to the specific manufacturer. Dell currently offers several warranties, that offer the consumer a chance to extend the warranty period. Dellsupport.com has all the detailed information available.
i think you should pay about $500 for a decent laptop or netbook
The netbook and laptop cases vary in size because a netbook is significantly smaller than a laptop. You should definitely check which one your friend has to ensure you get one that is going to fit the size of their computer.
There is no age restriction on owning a netbook. You 10 and if you understand what is netbook go for it.

The Acer Netbook is a versitile machine, but a worthwhile add-on would be a DVD-RW external drive. A 1 gigabite flash drive used in a USB port also makes sense. If you are more comfortable with a mouse, one can also be added as an option.
