∙ 10y agoA serious situation that could cause the mast to suddenly or slowly lower is a failure of the mast support system, such as a broken cable or hydraulic system. This could happen due to a structural failure, poor maintenance, or incorrect operation of the mast. It is important to address any issues with the mast support system promptly to prevent accidents or damages.
Damaged rigging, such as a broken shroud or stay, is a serious situation that could cause the mast to suddenly or slowly lower. This can result in a catastrophic failure of the rigging system and pose significant danger to the crew and the vessel. Regular inspection and maintenance of the rigging are crucial to prevent such incidents.
A serious situation that could cause the mast to suddenly or slowly lower in a forklift includes a hydraulic system failure, a leak in the hydraulic lines, or a malfunctioning control valve. These issues can result in an uncontrolled descent of the mast, posing a safety hazard to both the operator and those nearby. Immediate attention and repair by a qualified technician are necessary to prevent any accidents or injuries.
A hydraulic leak or failure in the lift cylinder can cause the forklift mast to lower suddenly. On the other hand, low hydraulic fluid levels or a worn-out lift mechanism may cause the mast to lower slowly.
Calving can occur quickly or slowly, depending on various factors such as the size of the glacier, temperature, and other environmental conditions. Large glaciers can have calving events that happen suddenly and dramatically, while smaller glaciers may experience slower, more gradual calving processes.
Stress that is gradually applied allows materials to deform more slowly and potentially reach higher strains before failure, as the material has time to adjust to the load. On the other hand, stress that is suddenly applied can lead to catastrophic failure at lower strains, as the material may not have time to redistribute the load and adjust its structure accordingly.

It struck suddenly. Everybody knows that.
A bad connection would cause a forklift mast to suddenly or slowly lower. Check all your connection wires to ensure they are properly attached and working.
it is slowly sinking into the sea
In most cases, arthritis does not come on suddenly. Arthritis tends to be a progressive disease that slowly worsens over time. It can come on suddenly when it is related to an infection of the bone or cartilage.
A loss of hydraulic fluid will cause a forklift mast to suddenly or slowly lower. The mast on a forklift is run by a system of tubing that is filled with hydraulic fluid. The mast might also fall suddenly if there is a break in the chain that holds the mast at a certain level or the chain is too loose.
That depend on what they want to do; a tiger will quietly and slowly stalk its prey, then suddenly leap out and give quick chase, for example.

It is where the follwer slowly rises then suddenly drops. These are used in car engines, in the pistons.
If you are moving and need to stop suddenly then turn off the engine and shift down through the gears and use the handbrake. It worked for me. If you do not have to stop suddenly take your foot off the accelerator and slowly decrease speed and go down through the gear box, use the handbrake slowly when your speed had slowed down enough.
