Normally AWG #10 wire on a 30 amp breaker but it really depends on the size of the pump. The pump manufacture will specify the size wire and size breaker needed.

What size breaker do you need for a well pump?

A breaker is based on the amperage that is drawn by the pump motor load. Find the full load amperage of the motor. The wire fed from the breaker has to be rated at 125% of the motors full load amperage. The breaker for motors have to be over sized, usually 250% of the motors full load amps.

Can you upgrade a 100A main circuit breaker to a higher amp?

I doubt if the 125 amp breaker will fit into a 100 amp box. This is due to the rating of the box only being rated at 100 amps. If this exchange could be made then the service conductors feeding the box must be upgraded to take the 125 amperage that the breaker will allow on the conductor.

Can a 220 Volt well motor be added to a 200 amp box or does it need its own box?

The well pump breaker is installed in two slots in your breaker box. You then run the correct size cable for the amperage of the pump to the area where the pressure tank is located. install a breaker or disconnect on the wall near the pressure tank and then connect the low pressure switch to the disconnect. Connect the pump to the low pressure switch.

What size breaker do i need for a central heat and air unit?

The breaker type be it a single pole or double pole will depend on what voltage the air conditioner operates on. Once the voltage is established, the sizing of the breaker depends on what the current draw of the air conditioner is.

What size circuit breaker for a stove?

that would really depend upon the stove (I assume that you mean an appliance with an electric cooktop and an electric oven) and the size of the wire present. Most of the time a stove will require a 50amp breaker. This will mean that you would need to have 6 gauge wiring. You can probably get by with a 40 amp breaker and 8 gauge wire if you absolutely had to. Always check the appliance specifications. they will recommend a breaker size.
