A single phase motor does not actually require a capacitor. This device is only needed when a split phase motor is utilised. A split phase motor needs a device to regulate the power factor associated with the split phase.
A 3 phase motor should not usually have a run capacitor, It could have 3 phase correction capacitors to reduce the out of phase current draw from the supply but even this is not common except where very large currents are involved, or where the utility company is penalising a customer for phase correction.
The start and or run capacitors in a single phase motor are simulating an additional phase to make the motor start.
As the 3 phases are delayed and advanced from each other it is simple to pull the armature around with either the advanced or delayed phase.
Large 3 phase motors may start then run in several different configurations such as star and delta or may even use a pole combination to change from start to run.
The capacitor size for an AC motor is calculated base on the amount of current required to start the motor. A good rule of thumb is 50 to 100% of the total load.
The motor for a 110v ac drill is a 14 amp motor. The 110v drill is used for household products and construction work. This is a tool that is not limited to wholesale purchases.
can you be hurt by 110v
It would involve some electronics work but it could be done. Might add that it could be more expensive than just buying the proper power supply. Use Use 220V 60hz motor to run 110V 50hz Generator.
The fact that it's supposed to. Voltage is stated as the difference between the two wires carrying electricity to the load. When they bring power to the house from the utility, you get two wires carrying 110v but they're 180 degrees out of phase. Imagine one carries positive 110v and the other carries negative 110v. If you hook one of these wires plus a neutral (zero volts) to the load, you get 110v--110v over 0v. If you hook both of them to the load, you get positive 110v over negative 110v, or 220v. So...red to white is 110v, black to white is 110v, red to black is 220v.
Use a transformer to lower from 220 to 110V.

Either. Motor size or your available power local to the pump installation are the determining factors. If you have to use a large motor, 220v requires less amp draw on the circuit and allows a smaller wire than a large motor running 110v. If 110v is already there and you only need a small motor, run 110v.
On a three wire supply system if you connect the two 110V wires together and they are across the phase they will short out and trip the breaker. If the two 110V wires are supplied from across the phase and connected to a motor then the motor will run. If the 110V wires are on the same phase nothing will happen.
Yes, if you rewire the bed and rewire the plug on the wall to 220 volts.
NO dear we can not rotate a 110 vlolt motor on 220,but if your voltage is 110v then y can rotate it on 50hz ,no problem, but it will rotate at lower speed, ENGR. NASEER AHMED,PAKISTAN
There are no three phase 120 volt systems.
Changing the plug will not change the power needed to run the saw. If the saw has a dual voltage motor then a wiring change can be done to switch the saw from 240 to 110 volts. If it is not a dual voltage system then the saw must be fed with 220 volts.
Yes, although you might have lucked out and tripped the breaker first.
To do it properly would require rewinding the motor with thicker wires in order to deal with the higher current caused by the higher voltage.
can you be hurt by 110v
It depends on the voltage-- I think at 110v it's 4 amps per hp
