In Chevy and GMC vehicles, the "big block" refers to a larger displacement engine. These engines can include the 396ci, 409ci, 427ci, 454ci, 502ci etc... Simply a larger dispacement does not always define an engine as being a big block. In some cases GM has made engines with 400ci of displacement which are considered small blocks.
Chevrolet used the 350 and 400 small blocks and the 454 big block.
Pontiac had no big blocks. all Pontiac engines are the same size externally (except the 301, it was a little smaller.)
Small block is around 575 and Big Blocks around 675. 454's are just a fuzz lighter due to bore larger bore size. Both weights are for all iron engines, block and heads, not aluminum heads or blocks. TL
yes it fit alot of Chevy engines including all small blocks and big blocks to same bolt pattern
The answer depends on how big the blocks are! The answer depends on how big the blocks are! The answer depends on how big the blocks are! The answer depends on how big the blocks are!
Same block, different bore and stroke.
There is no "small block" , "big block" with Pontiac engines. The physical size is the same from 326ci to the 455.
If your talking about a ford fe 427, made from 1963 to 1968, yes it is a ford fe big block. Fe engines were made from 1958 to 1976. These engines should not be confused with later 385 series big blocks sold as 370, 429 and 460 cid. Fe engines came as 332, 352, 390, 406, 410, 427 and 428 cid for automobles and 359, 360, 361, 389 and 391 cid for medium and heavy duty trucks. As of late many people have been making 427 cubic inch stroker 351 windsor engines, which of course are not big blocks.
Blocks are the big power blocks used to power the Xbox.
No. There were three families of engines for a long time: the Windsor/small-block, the 335/Cleveland, and the 385/big-block. Both the Windsor and Cleveland engines came in a 351 variant (you'll usually see them written as 351W or 351C/M), but neither of these is from the big-block family. Ford big-blocks came in three sizes: 370, 429, and 460.
The blocks on the pyramids are all different sizes. The blocks on the bottom are the largest; the blocks get smaller as they go up. The size of the bottom blocks of the Giza Pyramid are 1.5 meters tall, 1.5 meters wide, and 2.25 meters deep. A block this size would weigh 8.44 kg (9.3 tons). Some of the blocks weigh as much as 80 tons!6'X6'ft
Blocks are not all the same size.
