The size I was given at my local Ford service department is: 50mm, M4.2x1.4. They are extremely difficult to find and Ford charges about $12 each. AND, you can only buy them in sets of four, so plan on spending over $50 after shipping costs. I plan to scour the junkyards for two replacments for my 06' F150. Good luck to you!
you remove plastic red/white cover with 2 screws and remove bulbs.
you dont go to the dealer who will charge you 50.00 for replacing a 5.00 part that takes 2 minutes!
Under the dash near the brake pedal lever.
Brake switch.
Check the operation and alignment of the brake light switch, located at the upper end of the brake pedal under the dash area
You want a violent twitch for your 1997 Ford F150?
There is a single screw above each front parking light assembly. You will need a 7mm socket to remove the screw. After the screw is removed, simply pull on the assembly from the back corner and pull straight forward.
Check the fuse first then the brake light switch
If the ABS light is on, this means that there is a problem with the Anti-Lock Brake System. This is not a DIY repair. Take it to a dealer.
the brake light switch is located on the brake pedal, near the top. You will have to take off the cover right under the steering wheel to really be able to see it. Hope this answered your question
If the parking brake / emergency brake is on , or if the BRAKE FLUID LEVEL in your brake master cylinder in the engine compartment is LOW , and probably before you start the engine when you turn your ignition key to the RUN position just to make sure the bulb for the warning light works
Make sure brake fluid in the master cylinder is at the proper level Make sure parking brake is fully released and switch is working
