I have heard a really loud and strange gurgling sound from a very hungry snake. I have heard hissing sound with almost a little hiccup or bark at the end. Sounds weird, but he was not happy, and made the same sound several times before leaving my deck. He was after the House Wren babies just hatched.
Baically, when they shed there skins, it gets removed at the end of the tail.
As this process proceeds, each time they shed their skin, it turns into a beed . So, it basically coils up at the end of their tails.
Now what happens is that, as they keep on sheding their skin the coiled up skin starts turning and looking like more beeds....and those beeds are then utilised by rattle snake to warn other animals/organisms to stay away from them since the rattle snake is feeling verry angry!
Just think of it as your beed set. the coils of their skin hits itself and then finally they make a ratteling sound.
take care

They have like a music rattler type. It sounds like a baby toy,but not as peaceful.
No... not really a baby toy. I heard one for the fifth or sixth time today. Imagine the sound a slinky makes when quickly pushed together, but much more stacatto and very, very, very loud and in very quick succession
It dosent usually make another sound unless it makes a sound when it bites it can hiss and slither and breath and smell
It's a 'hissing' sound - similar to the sound of air escaping from a tyre.
When the snake vibrates its tail it produces a buzzing noise as a warning to other animals not to approach too close.
rattle
Yes, if they wanted to. But The Rattle Snake Would Die Wouldnt They Because Of The Rattle Not true. The rattle contains no poison and is only used to warn others which therefore wouldn't kill the snakes. Rattlesnakes are also immune to their own poison as well. Rattlesnakes have venom, not poison.
They vibrate their tail about 50 times per second. The loose segments of the rattle then produce a buzzing sound as they rub against each other.
The sections at the end of their tail are hollow and loosely connected to each other. The Rattlesnake vibrates its tail when annoyed or disturbed - causing the loose sections to rub together - which we hear as the characteristic rattle.
They don't. Unless you count eating and killing other animals, besides it's own kind, a game.
No, Rattlesnakes are carnivores. i.e they eat other animals. They usually eat rodents, but they eat whatever they can shove down their throat.
nothing will happen if rattle snakes will bite each other they still will live
cobras and the Australian bandy-bandy
Young Rattlesnakes (less than 2 years old) are heavily preyed upon by numerous species like Ravens, Crows, Raccoons, Coyotes, Weasels etc. Even Adult Rattlesnakes are known to cannibalize youngsters. Adolescent Rattlesnakes (above 2 years) are preyed upon by larger predators like Eagles, Hawks, Badgers, Kingsnakes etc. Adult Rattle snakes have only one known predator the "Kingsnake" which is a constrictor. It is immune to the venom of Rattlesnakes and other Vipers and consumes them as a part of its natural diet.
The rattle is made up of specially formed scales, which fit into each other, and make a buzzing sound when the snake vibrates the tail..All pit vipers vibrate the tail, like copperheads and cottonmouths, but only rattlers make a distinctive sound because of the rattles.
Many creaturs can eat rattle snakes. Large rodents eat small snakes and birds of prey sometimes kill them. Pigs are quite good at killing rattlesnakes and often eat them and even humans and bigger snakes eat rattle snakes.Young Rattlesnakes (less than 2 years old) are heavily preyed upon by numerous species like Ravens, Crows, Raccoons, Coyotes, Weasels etc. Even Adult Rattlesnakes are known to cannibalize youngsters. Rattlesnakes are deaf and cannot hear their own rattle, a trait that has sparked two main theories on why they have a rattle at all. The first theory, the Bison theory, states that the rattle evolved to reduce the risk of being stepped on and crushed by bison, and secondly, as a means of warning any bison about not to come too close. The other, but less accepted, theory is that the rattle evolved as a specialization of the enlargement of the tail present in most snakes due to the shedding of skin. Later, this evolved into whatever purposes the tail of rattlesnakes has in today's species. The problem with the latter theory is that it does not give a true explanation of the purpose of the rattle, it merely explains how the rattle could have evolved.
no if they came in the same cage they would fight
