Explaining the process
The body paragraphs come after an introduction paragraph. The body paragraphs fully explain the topic of the essay. Once three or more body paragraphs have been written, the conclusion paragraph sums up the whole essay and summarizes the information that was discussed in the essay.
Body paragraphs
Anything you put into a paragraph is considered part of the body. Names, Salutations, Subjects, Dates, PostScripts, etc. are not considered paragraphs.
The elements of paragraphs are the main point or subject, sentences or statements to explain the main point, and a conclusion sentence. A paragraph should be about only one subject and paragraphs should be arranged in the body of the writing in a chronological order.
The normal number of body paragraphs are 3-4.
In academic writing, the "traditional format" consists of an introductory paragraph (or paragraphs), a distinct body made up of several paragraphs, and a clear conclusion. The body of the paper will offer a single main idea (with supporting evidence) in each body-paragraph.
There are three main types of paragraphs in an academic essay: introductory paragraphs, the body paragraphs and the concluding paragraphs. These types of paragraphs are located in the introduction, the body of the essay or in the conclusion, respectively.
