James Buchanan, Franklin Pierce, and Andrew Johnson are usually ranked as the worst. Rutherford B. Hayes and Chester Arthur are the least well-remembered.

Yes, there is at least one high school and some one elementary schools named after him. Some are located in Mercersburg, Bethlehem, Lancaster and Levittown, Pennsylvania.
James Buchanan (Democrat) was the 15th President of the US, elected in 1857 - he defeated John Fremont in the general election. By the way, Mr Buchanan was the only US president who never married.
don't think so, at least not directly of any sorts. all human kinds are related somehow. this is definitely that kind of relation too distant to account for. EDIT: Actually they probably are. My mom's family are Buchanan's and we pretty much all trace our ancestry back to Scotland. I know President Buchanan was a Great Uncle to my family. (He didn't have any kids). So it might be a little stretch, but they are most likely related somehow.

No one knows for certain. There is an ongoing debate whether James Buchanan was or was not gay. There were indications that he was and indications he was not. Those interested in learning the answer to this question will have to go through the history books and make their own decisions.
