For the filament tocatch fire you need to have oxygen present so depending on the type of light bulb it may be a vacuum inside or have some sort of inert gas inside that is not oxygen.
That is a light bulb, or any filament such as the one in a radiant electric fire.
The function of a lamp is to give light while minimizing the risk of anything around it catching fire.
A light bulb needs a vacuum to prevent the combustion (burning) of the filament when it's heated. The vacuum assures that there is no oxygen in the bulb, which would be necessary to support combustion.
Nothing can catch light in the same sense as catching a ball, holding it and then letting it go again. However, when something is said to "catch light", the true meaning is that it has started to burn and produce a flame. For example, throw a piece of paper on a fire and it will "catch light".
No. You can't light a penny on fire. If you get it hot enough you can melt the penny but it won't really be on fire.
Peeta's heart stops in Catching Fire because he runs into a powerful force field. Luckily, Finnick was there and restarted his heart!! I <3 PEETA!!
becoming a light
That is a light bulb, or any filament such as the one in a radiant electric fire.
Usually, the filament burns briefly, and then is reduced to ash. Try it at home by breaking a light bulb (very, very carefully) and turning on the light. The filament should give of a puff of smoke, maybe fizz a little, and then go out. Have a fire extinguisher/bucket of water ready though.
The book after Catching Fire is Mockingjay.
