i think its either hydrochloric acid, calcium carbonate, sodium hydroxide or sulphuric acid

A better description is: 250mg sodium alginate, 133.5mg sodium hydrogen and 80mg calcium carbonate per tablet.That is on a Gaviscon tablet.

Indigestion is usually caused by an excess of acid in the stomach. Indigestion tablets then contain a strong base to neutralize it, usually in the form of calcium carbonate.
