Those are essentials, no matter what. No matter whether it's 1909 or 2009, if you're going long-distance, you're gonna need food and drink of some sorts, and at least one change of clothes (because no one likes smelly people). Now, as for what real stuff...

They had a document, the Mayflower Compact. Anyone have any other clues?

Some of the supplies that the colonists needed to bring on a journey were:

* foods/water (in case they are hungry or treaty )

*gun ( in case they want to shot something )

*notebook (they might want to write some study the saw)

*flag ( to represent the country they are from)

* wagon ( to carry their stuff)

*tenant (to sleep in the night)

*pen/quill ( to write with)

*horses ( to travel around)

* ship (to cross the sea)

*axes (to chop woods to make fire)
