The default printer is changed in Windows by opening the start menu, going to Devices and Printer, and right clicking on the desired printer. Set as default printer is selected to finalize the change.
Default printer is chosen automatically when you call print dialog. If you want to set another printer as default you can do it by going to Start -> Devices and Printers -> right click on the printer you want to make default. Choose "Set default printer".
In Windows 7 - click on Start, then 'Devices and Printers. This will open a new window with all your hardware devices. Right-click the device you want to set as the default, and on the drop down menu that pops up, select 'set as default'.
Are you sure you're selecting the correct printer? Sometimes a computer will attempt to send a document to a non-existent or a former printer. (assuming windows) Go to Control Panel then Printers, it may be "Printers and Faxes", depending on your system. Check which printer is 'default'. The default printer will have a check mark by it. If the wrong printer is selected as default, "right click" on the correct printer and then select the option, "set as default printer". If you don't find your printer in the list, you may need to install it using the manufacturers installation software, or you may need to find a "driver" over the internet.
Using standard tools you cannot do that because a default printer is defined by the operating system. In windows xp you can have only one default printer.
This is called the default printer
Lots of printers work with Windows 98. Generally speaking, any printer that connects via a parallel port, or that can be printed to over a network will work. USB printers may or may not work, depending on their age. You should check the printer manufacturer's site to see what operating system it is compatible with.
Search from startmenu: Devices and Printers and/or Device Manager
You can use any printer as long as your Printer's hardware and software supports any version of the Windows Operating systems. Make sure you check the OS compatibility of the printer before you buy one.
The vast majority of printers are compatible with Windows 7, if there is a problem with your printer installs the driver for that printer , if you have other installed and still have compatibility problems only get in the manufacturer's website and see if a driver most current download and install it , in order to maintain compatibility with the operating system and can recognize without any problems
Yes. However, this does not mean that your printer will be supported out of the box.
