The Perseid meteor shower for 2010 is already underway. While the Perseids will not peak until August 12 or so, many meteors are already falling. It really doesn't matter what country or continent you live in. The following suggestions will work anywhere.
1. Find an area away from city lights; the darker, the better!
2. Hills are better than valleys.
3. Open fields without nearby treelines are better than small meadows in the forests.
4. Avoid Coastlines or shorelines, as fog will often form there.
5. Chose someplace with predicted good weather.
6. Meteors are best seen in the pre-dawn hours from about 2 AM to dawn. This is because the line of sunrise is the "leading edge" of the Earth's movement, while the sunset line is the trailing edge of the Earth. Where do you see more bugs? On the windshield or on the back window?
