A judge (in court) can not practically lie. The court proceedings are all transcribed and the judge does not give evidence, his/her role is to ensure that the trial is conducted fairly and to arbitrate on the meaning of the law as it pertains to the case.
If the judge makes a mistake (judges are only human) in the conduct of the case or in a legal determination, the case can be appealed to a higher court which will correct the error.

∙ 11y agoWhile judges may be protected from civil liability under absolute judicial immunity, they're not resistant against the claims of Perjury. If the judge was on the record when a lie was made and you feel it rose to the level of affecting the outcome of your case, you can file an appeal. You can also file a criminal complaint with the prosecutors office for Perjury. You may also contact the American Bar Association and the local bar association and file a misconduct report.
