What to do when your child screams while pooping?

Who ever responded with this is an idiot.

If your baby screams while having a bowl movement there is a problem. Please check with your child's doctor.

I've had 2 children who would cry while having a bm. The fecal matter was stuck partially lodged in/out and they couldn't pass this. This is very painful to your baby/child.

With both children I immediately eliminated ALL dairy. I also gave them lots of water throughout the day. You can try juice, apple, grape, prune, but be sure to give them lots of water.

If this doesn't work you can try a spoon or two of corn syrup.

Please buy yourself a coffee grinder. Go to your local health food store and get flax seed. Grind the flax with your coffee maker and sprinkle on your child's food regularly.

You can try sprinkling Benifiber on your child's food. (I don't recommend much, just a tiny sprinkle throughout the day). This can also be added to their drinks. But, keep in mind too much fiber can cause a problem too.

You can purchase children's liquid stool softener, a child's glycerin suppositories~ liquid works best, (I used the Fleet brand of both), or Fletcher's brand Laxative for KIDS (tastes like Rootbeer. I added it to a small amount of Rootbeer to get my child to drink it without struggle). You do not want to use any of these products regularly.

If you have a child who's bm is stuck (half in/out) put them into a warm bath. Use a water bottle (I used an empty ~extremely cleaned & rinsed~ dish soap bottle w/lid), as my child stood in a warm bath crying/screaming because the bm was stuck and trying to pass the bm I would squirt luke warm water directly at the stuck poop, do this until the poop dissolves or passes.

Use this for immediate relief. My poor toddler would be so exhausted after this process that he would lay limp, cuddle up and quickly fall asleep.

Child 1 was extremely sensitive to dairy. Eliminating all dairy & adding flax was all she needed.

Child 2~I'm keeping a food log to see if I can pinpoint what is the cause of my toddlers inability to have a bm w/out screaming. So far??? He cry's while having a bm regardless of the consistency of the bm. He has plenty of fruits & vegetables.

Before anyone's mind goes south, no, he is not in ANY childcare/babysitter situation. He is ALWAYS with me. When I say ALWAYS, I mean ALWAYS, no 2 minutes with ANYONE else.
