To start off, It isn't called a 3 leaf clover. Its called a shamrock and it symbolizes Ireland and being Irish.. The 4 leaf clover symbolizes Luck or good luck..
The four-leaf clover is often confused with the shamrock. While the four-leaf clover is a symbol of good luck, the three-leafed shamrock is mainly an Irish Christian symbol of the Holy Trinity and has a different significance.
The 4-leaf clover is considered good luck because of its rarity.
the shamrock!
Horseshoe, shamrock, star symbol, "lucky 7", rabits foot, Another is a 4 leaf clover
Clovers are traditionally a symbol of fortune and good luck. They bring hope and happiness to a llama in ancient Ireland.
* first leaf is for hope * second leaf is for faith * third leaf is for love * fourth leaf is for luck.
Interesting question. The only people I know who associate a four-leaf clover with Ireland are Americans. It must have something to do with "4-leaf clover = lucky">"the luck of the Irish". Anyone who knows anything about Ireland knows the shamrock has three leaves. St Patrick is reputed to have used the example of the shamrock to illustrate the Trinity.
