Kia Rio manual trans fluid changeChange the manual transmission fluid, first remove drain pulg on the lower bottom of the transmission. Drain old fluid. Reinstall drain plug. Remove the speed cable housing from the transmission, this is where you add the new fluid.

Remove the transmission plug on the bottom of the transmission. The transmission fluid will drain out of the unplugged whole.

drain the fluid out of the transmission pan, unbolt the pan, remove the filter and replace

== == It's relatively simple: First you locate your tranny drain and filler bolts (your manual should indicate where they are and what they look like) . They'll be underneath the car on the "passenger" side of the transmission. Remove the drain bolt with a 3/4 ratchet after letting the car run for a while. Let the MTF run out completely. Replace the drain bolt. Remove filler bolt with a 19mm socket. Using a fluid pump, fill the transmission with just under 2 quarts of Honda Manual Transmission Fluid. When it runs out the hole, stop pumping. Replace the filler bolt and you're good to go. (P.S. The filler bolt is the one that's higher than the drain bolt.) == == == == == ==
Remove the driveshafts. How you proceed next depends on what you want and the capabilities of the transmission jack you're using. If you're going to separate the transfer case from the transmission, you'll want to drain the transfer case first. Then you unbolt it from the transmission. The transmission, you can detach either with the bell housing on or off. Drain the fluid, and unbolt it.
