For an automatic a Turbohydramatic (THM 350) should fit the bill. If you find a THM 400 it is a bit stronger with a shorter first gear for quicker launches. Manuals you're gonna have to match to the year, but you should be able to find many 3, 4 and even 5 speeds. whoever said that the thm400 is stronger is a bit retarder b/c i ran a turbo 400 in my race truck for two weeks and it basically stripped all the gears out of it and blew it to pieces... i was told to try the thm350 and after the new 350 transmission has been in the 800 rear wheele hp truck i have had no problems even running it on the street every once in a while.... the 350's are notoriously stronger even though the 400's were designed to be stronger and faster with the shorter first gear the 350is an all around better pick
One dipstick Is oil one is transmission
No. Buick, Olds, Pontiac, and Cadillac are the same. Chevrolet is different.
Chevrolet v6 and v8 are totally different blocks, no you can not bolt a v8 small block transmission to a v6 block.
Yes. The transmission from a small block must be at 351 Windsor , And C6 transmission if the transmission is a c4 . It will not work
Yes.
this is a mess of a question and the answer is NO. why? because there was never a big block 350 made by Chevrolet and as far as a short block 350 on the transmission? who cares rather the motor had heads or not (i.e. short block= crate motor sold without heads). if you asked me if a big block Chevy will bolt up to a transmission that came in a vehicle with a small block i would say yes.
The 4.3 GM V6 has the same bellhousing pattern as any small block Chevrolet - so, yes any TH 700 R 4 transmission with a Chevrolet pattern will bolt to any 4.3 V^ with a Chevrolet bolt pattern.
yes
They had the 350 small block and 454 big block in them.
The 5.7 liter 350 cu. in. Chevrolet V8 is a small block. There is no big block 350.
yes.
no.
