I believe it is the Liturgy of the Word (with the readings) and the "Liturgy" of Communion. I think those are the names, but I might be off a bit. Basically, it is divided between the readings and Communion.

The 3 parts of the Catholic Liturgy are: 1. Liturgy of the Word (a) Reading from the Scriptures (b) brief homily (c) prayers of the faithful 2. Adoration of the Cross 3. Reception of Holy Communion which was reserved from the previous evening's Mass of the Lord's Supper
During the liturgy of the word you need to be listening to the priest/bishop or deacon because during this part of the mass we learn of redemption and salvation through the proclamation of the scriptures.
