Pokemon and the 3 powers
Primarina is a good starter Pokemon to have, being Water and Fairy type. Its signature move, Sparkling Aria, has more base power than Incineroar's move, Darkest Lariat, and Decidueye's move, Spirit Shackle. Primarina has a decent movepool as well. It has access to sound moves such as Hyper Voice, Sing, and Perish Song, becuase it is based on a singer. It also can learn Icy Wind by level up, knocking back threatening Grass-types. If that's not enough, it can also learn Ice Beam, which is far stronger than Icy Wind. Poison-types Team Skull use pose a horrendous threat, being part Fairy-type. However, Primarina has access to Psychic, which can keep away Poison-types easily. Also, its typing comes in handy. While Poison can't be kept away without the right moves, the Steel-type which is much more powerful is resisted by Water, doing neutral damage. This leaves Water's weaknesses, Grass and Electric. Grass can be countered by Ice moves, but Electric's only weakness is Ground, so watch out for that. Also, Primarina can have type coverage for Rock, Ground, Fire, Fighting, Dark and Dragon with just its two main types. With a good moveset, Primarina can be an extremely good member of your team. A good type coverage moveset can be Sparkling Aria, Ice Beam, Psychic and Moonblast. This moveset counters previously listed types, as well as Poison, Flying and Grass. Though Smogon, a website with ideal Pokemon sets, will probably tell you you should use a moveset that has nothing to do with Primarina.
