Ground types are the answer. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl: The third gym leader uses Fighting Pokemon. Use Flying, Bug, Poison, and Psychic types. Pokemon Platinum: The third gym leader uses Ghost Pokemon. This fight is very difficult. A Dark-type works well.
