The vast majority of bacteria are harmless to us humans, and a great number of them are actually beneficial to us. There are, however, a smaller number that are actually harmful. Most of these cause contagious diseases, while some of the more virulent are infectious.
A few like tuberculosis, syphilis, and chlamydia, are infectious, which means that they are spread by intimate contact. It is not so much the type of bacteria that makes it infectious, but rather the transmission route. For a pathogen to be infectious it is spread through contact with body fluids, in particular blood, semen, vaginal secretion, breast milk, and sometimes saliva.
Bacteria, some fungi and viruses
A non-communicable disease or NCD is a disease which is not infectious, therefore it does not have any method of transmission to other organisms.
if the disease is caude by a microorganism, this is called ( infection
Infectious disease
Infectious diseases involve a causative organism, from groups such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and such. Noninfectious diseases involve causes other than specific infectious organisms.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is the government agency responsible for tracking infectious diseases in the US. They monitor and respond to disease outbreaks, conduct research, and provide guidance to prevent the spread of infections.
